Skype App out for iPhone

Skype on iPhoneAt the end of March, a Skype application for the Apple iPhone became available for free. If you’re not in the know, Skype lets you make free calls to other Skype users, offers Instant Messaging, and with Skype Out, you can make cheap calls to landlines and mobiles.

Before you get too excited, note that UK network operator o2 blocks its use on their network – after all, as they offer free Internet with the iPhone, they won’t make money if you’re making free calls over their mobile network. You can use the Skype app on a wi-fi connection though.

The Skype application for iPhone and iTouch is available for free from the iTunes App Store.
