The noise stats look OK, certainly noise margin should not be restricting your upload speed.  What's the download speed?

However, your upload output power is very low (mine's 12), so maybe there's a fault with your hub.

Your last course of action may be the best.  I ditched mine and went back to 1.5 after a variety of problems.

Personally, I wouldn't turn it off permanently.  However, if you just want to try if for a while to see if it improves things, you should be OK.

1.5 to 6.5 meg is a very large variation over a day for download speed. Suggests you have a very variable phone line.  Does it set itself to those values or are you turning it on and off?

You may have spurious noise on your line that is generated in the home - you could look here for possible solutions  http://www.jarviser.co.uk/jarviser/bellwirenutshell.html

BTW, to get a true picture of the line quality, you need to give the speed that goes with the noise margin numbers.

Unfortunately, if your problems are due to the state of your line, you will have the same issues with any provider using the same copper.

Is your telephone service affected at all - like noise on the line? If so you might get some action from the line faults people, but make sure the problem is not on your side of the main box first, or you will pay.

Have you tried the router direct into the test socket?

Yes mate, its plugged into the main socket,i dont have a test socket as its the old BT box.

I have now changed my filter that came with my hh2 back to th 1.5 one and look at this ....

Downstream 8,128 Kbps
Upstream 448 Kbps

Noise margin (Down/Up) 9.6 dB / 22.0 dB
Line attenuation (Down/Up) 26.1 dB / 14.0 dB
Output power (Down/Up) 14.1 dBm / 1.6 dBm

Really strange how the noise up as dropped ? Roll Eyes

Ill wait a few days to see what happens, funny thing is on sometest i cant even get an upload test to show?
Its as if i dont have an upload ?

The old filter seems to have done the trick!  Youre maxed out on both upstream and downstream now.

The upstream noise margin has fallen because the upstream speed has increased.

Are you saying that uploading still doesn't work, even with these stats?
