Setting up a Samsung Tocco Lite

I am new to all this technology so please be gentle.  I have a samsung tocco lite which has been unlocked and I am using vodafone payg.  Is it possible for me to access the internet using this phone?  If so can anybody help me set it up to do so, basically just to access my emails on the odd occasion. Cry
