WiFi
Oct 2nd, 2009 at 1:37pm

Hi all
I lve in rural Spain and connect to the internet through a local WIFI system, from which I get quite quick connection, I have only one PC running XP and the final connection is with an ithernet cable into my PC.
I have recently bought an Ipod touch and would like to connect with this, my question is how do I go about setting up a WiFi network within my house to achieve this, sorry if this is a dumb question but I have not been down this road before.

Will the wifi on the Ipod connect to the local wifi? if your pc is wired to the connection is it wired to a router? is the router wireless?

thank for reply, thought no one was there, no my connection into my pc is by ethernet cable, direct to my pc, I have an airbridge on my roof and it is this that get the wifi signal.
Hope that is clear as I do not fully understand this technology.
Regards
Chris

If the wifi bridge is transmitting a wifi signal then the wifi on your ipod should be able to pick it up, just a case of putting in the wireless security on the ipod to access the wifi.................or............if the bridge is only recieving the signal and then feeding it to your pc then i dont think it will work

yea, the bridge is pickup the signsl then feeding it via ethernet to tje pc, what I was thinking about was someway to get the pc to transmit the signal via wifi throughout the house, as I live in a rural situation, with no close neighbours security is not an issue, is there any way I can do this. My ISP needed my PCs mac address to allow me on line.
