P910i GPS Software Needed
Dec 28th, 2006 at 1:38pm

I have a P910i and a Bluetooth GPS Receiver (GP-27) that according to Ebay is compatible with my P910i.  The booklet that came with the GPS Bluetooth receiver is telling me I need PaPaGo 5 software but when I go to the PaPaGo webpages it does not mention the P910i as being compatible.

Have I cocked up by buying the GPS receiver from Ebay?
If not, will I be OK to purchase the PaPaGo 5 software (UK)?
Can I download a trial version (of any software) to see if it will work and if I like it?
What is the best combination of GPS receiver and Software for the P910i?

Many thanks for your help.

Oh Hi Twigglethead....it's Twigglethead here....I just thought I would write you a nice reply seeing as none of the other 272 people that read your first ever post on this wonderful site have written anything at all!!   Shocked

I just wanted to say that there are clearly a great many people out there that want advice on GPS Software so we can use our phones as Sat Nav devices......surely there must be a clever person that knows everything there is to know who is prepared to respond....no.....oh well - it was worth a try. Hi twigglehead. As far as I am aware, so long as you can pair the bluetooth gps device with the phone you should be fine. When I had a P910, I bought a GPS receiver off ebay and it worked just fine. I used it with tomtom mobile 5 with no problems, and now use it with Navigator 6 on my P990. As for best GPS software, it has to be tomtom mobile 5 on a P910 - no GPRS loading of maps or directions, easy and intuative to use, simple to install - just copy to a decent 1gb pro duo if you want to use a p910 for more than just Sat Nav and you are away. To be honest, the p910 is a much more stable platform than my p990 is now, as I never had it freeze or lock up.

As I don't check this forum very often, I hope this answers your questions

Regards

Phil

Hi twigglethead,  did you get the Sat Nav to work on your P910 with tom tom Mobile 5.  If so where did you get it from and does the software cover Northern Ireland? Cheers
Owain Undecided

Owain,  sorry bud....other more important money issues arose and I had to put more essential things higher up the priority list...such as Wifes new hair do and shoes etc...you know how it goes.  I do plan....1 day, to get the tomtom 5 software and use my phone for it's orginal intention.  Maybe I need to leave my wife in order to make it happen  Grin

Good luck bud  Cool
