Comment: My Nokia 7650 is dead. This happened when I was deleting big archive of sms messages. The phone hang up and I restart it by removing batteries. When I'm trying to boot it again it displays Nokia logo, flashes lights on, and halts.
Periodically the phone tries to boot in the background, and without success. It gives several errors: "no memory", "kern-exec 3, etel server closed", "insufficient disk space, please remove some data", "phone startup failed, please contact the retailer"
I was in the service center (not official), where they have changed firmware but it did not help. They told that this maybe caused by physical damage (but I'm sure that this is a software problem). Unfortunately in my country is not official service center. What should I do? I have not brought the phone from official retailer. Can I change the phone to new one? Where should I require support? I am unfortunately experiencing this problem with my 7650. It seems that there is no other way to do a master, or hard, reset. There is though a button on the back of the phone when you take off the cover, it should restart, but doesn't seem to work on my phone.

I've just got a data cable for my 7650, but I cant get Nokia's PC Suite to recognise the connection. I'm wondering if I've got a duff cable...? I've tried all different combinations of com port and cable types in the connection settings... still nothing! Logomanager knows its connected, but as to the details of what its connected too, its a bit confused. It cant read all the phones information in the phone explorer function.
Maybe I'm thick, or maybe its a combination of duff cable and duff software...? Please Help, email soon!!!

My 7650 is malfunctioning, i can write & send SMS, the problem is, numbers are the one appearing not letters. With the use of the magic format code *#7370#, my problem was solve. the Nokia 7650 Bluetooth does not support the voice tag so i can not use a wireless handsfree i have been told that there is a software to be downloaded from the net and installed on the 7650 to let the Bluetooth support the voice tag ....... for more than a month now i keep searching the net for such software and fail to find it

Comment: Great phone, no problems so far (apart from the slide out keypad, I've worn it out a bit and it moves if I press the joystick too hard - so be careful!). The camera is pretty good for what it is and the video recorder is fun too. I've connected to my PC via Bluetooth (Nokia's PC suite is very troublesome [in fact, utter rubbish] but it will work eventually so keep at it) and copied my photos/videos etc and sent games across including DOOM, some racing game, and a gameboy emulator! I've also set my ringtone to a .wav file I created on my PC. I don't understand how these other people are getting problems, I haven't experienced anything like that. Great phone, but I do wish it had a little more memory or came with an expansion slot.

Comment: I have an orange 7650 with line two activated, the problem is nobody including two of nokia's service agents, and orange's tech support dept, can rectify the reason that have missing call barring menu's on the handset. saying that he phone when the upload has been corrupt, and a format was used (*#7370#) then line two became deactived from the handset, but the missing menu returned. This must be the worst Nokia handset i have ever had. Bring back the 7110, at least it worked!

Comment: What a shame this phone is totally let down by a pathetic 4mb of memory and crap Nokia Suite software.
The software will no doubt get better via a 3rd party company, but with only 4meg of memory and no way to add to it, I think that's made this phone have a very short life. In fact there are loads of these for sale on ebay now.

Comment: Hi all, Seen a couple of comments like mine. The phone suddenly went into a no signal state. All other functions are ok, clock (although it did change time a few times) calendar, games. The battery charge is now very long lasting, was about 3 days between charges tho that depends on camera use etc.etc. It remains in that "No Signal" condition now. Does anyone have any ideas, or what to do next.

Comment: hi, i am inuk, with orange network. My friend had a Nokia 7650 and after it working a week on pay as you gom it stopped working, and wouldn't pick up the Orange signal at all. He now has to use a Vodafone sim card, and used his main orange sim card in his other 8210. Now the same thing has happened to me. After about 2-3 weeks of orange use, it worked fine..no problems. Today here was no reception at all. I have tried this sim in other phones works fine, and have tried other orange sims in my Nokia 7650. none work. What does this mean. What can i do to fix this...help me out....

Comment: Hi All!!! I've now had my Nokia 7650 for a few months. By the looks of things, many of you people (below) have not really understood what the 7650 can really do. Few examples are; Video recorder (make your own videos mp4) I personally have 2 different sis files. Then a personal "Answering machine" You can actually hear people leave a message. No more service charge! Then there are games like "DOOM" & many other 3d available on the net for free. Its true you will always run out of memory. I have to keep deleating programs to install new better software/games. Also look for "EFILEMANAGER" I got it for free on the web. Its an extended file manager. Send ANYTHING from your phone (videos, tones, software etc, etc) Its an amazing tool. Also some very cool screen savers. All you got to do is look around. I don't check my yahoo mail very often but if there's anything you'd like to know? email me... I'll try answer back asap. Have fun... I do everyday! :)

Comment: My advice would be to NEVER use the hard reset code for the 7650 (I'm not even going to list it just in case you try). A friend of mine gave me the code and only when my handset would no longer boot, did he mention that he hadn't tried it himself (some mate he is!). 'Fortunately' my unit had a Bluetooth problem and was due to be replaced FOC anyway......

I have had this phone for a while. WAS very happy and above all flashy too. Caught every one's eye and sight. But the bloody problem now is a while ago it started generating APVserv errors and on and on. Now it says MEMORY FULL and wont bloody start the phone. Comment: Its a great phone. I also have the problem with the time changing.
I only regret that the software supplied with the phone does not offer the same features as Nokia Data Suite 4.1 for Nokia 6210. With PC Suite for 7650 we can not edit contacts or send SMS messages from the PC. Would you know of any third party software with those features.

Comment: It's a great phone the only problem I have found is that the time keeps on changing without telling you. Example you put the time as 5pm if you later switch off the phone, when you switch it on again it shows a different time and sometimes the date! Also if you do not use the phone for at least 12 hours the time changes again.... Some sort of bug? There is a function where you can have automatic update of the time and date, but it still changes the time as I mentioned above. So I think Nokia should investigate this little problem. But that is all, apart from not so much software available for the moment but soon there will be, I guess.. Up to you now... Regards William

Comment: My Nokia 7650 is dead. This happened when I was deleting big archive of sms messages. The phone hang up and I restart it by removing batteries. When I'm trying to boot it again it displays Nokia logo, flashes lights on, and halts.
Periodically the phone tries to boot in the background, and without success. It gives several errors: "no memory", "kern-exec 3, etel server closed", "insufficient disk space, please remove some data", "phone startup failed, please contact the retailer"
I was in the service center (not official), where they have changed firmware but it did not help. They told that this maybe caused by physical damage (but I'm sure that this is a software problem). Unfortunately in my country is not official service center. What should I do? I have not brought the phone from official retailer. Can I change the phone to new one? Where should I require support? I am unfortunately experiencing this problem with my 7650. It seems that there is no other way to do a master, or hard, reset. There is though a button on the back of the phone when you take off the cover, it should restart, but doesn't seem to work on my phone.

I've just got a data cable for my 7650, but I cant get Nokia's PC Suite to recognise the connection. I'm wondering if I've got a duff cable...? I've tried all different combinations of com port and cable types in the connection settings... still nothing! Logomanager knows its connected, but as to the details of what its connected too, its a bit confused. It cant read all the phones information in the phone explorer function.
Maybe I'm thick, or maybe its a combination of duff cable and duff software...? Please Help, email soon!!!

Comment: Great phone, no problems so far (apart from the slide out keypad, I've worn it out a bit and it moves if I press the joystick too hard - so be careful!). The camera is pretty good for what it is and the video recorder is fun too. I've connected to my PC via Bluetooth (Nokia's PC suite is very troublesome [in fact, utter rubbish] but it will work eventually so keep at it) and copied my photos/videos etc and sent games across including DOOM, some racing game, and a gameboy emulator! I've also set my ringtone to a .wav file I created on my PC. I don't understand how these other people are getting problems, I haven't experienced anything like that. Great phone, but I do wish it had a little more memory or came with an expansion slot.

Comment: I have an orange 7650 with line two activated, the problem is nobody including two of nokia's service agents, and orange's tech support dept, can rectify the reason that have missing call barring menu's on the handset. saying that he phone when the upload has been corrupt, and a format was used (*#7370#) then line two became deactived from the handset, but the missing menu returned. This must be the worst Nokia handset i have ever had. Bring back the 7110, at least it worked!

Comment: What a shame this phone is totally let down by a pathetic 4mb of memory and crap Nokia Suite software.
The software will no doubt get better via a 3rd party company, but with only 4meg of memory and no way to add to it, I think that's made this phone have a very short life. In fact there are loads of these for sale on ebay now.

Comment: Hi all, Seen a couple of comments like mine. The phone suddenly went into a no signal state. All other functions are ok, clock (although it did change time a few times) calendar, games. The battery charge is now very long lasting, was about 3 days between charges tho that depends on camera use etc.etc. It remains in that "No Signal" condition now. Comment: hi, i am inuk, with orange network. My friend had a Nokia 7650 and after it working a week on pay as you gom it stopped working, and wouldn't pick up the Orange signal at all. He now has to use a Vodafone sim card, and used his main orange sim card in his other 8210. Now the same thing has happened to me. After about 2-3 weeks of orange use, it worked fine..no problems. Today here was no reception at all. I have tried this sim in other phones works fine, and have tried other orange sims in my Nokia 7650. none work. What does this mean. What can i do to fix this...help me out....

Comment: Hi All!!! I've now had my Nokia 7650 for a few months. By the looks of things, many of you people (below) have not really understood what the 7650 can really do. Few examples are; Video recorder (make your own videos mp4) I personally have 2 different sis files. Then a personal "Answering machine" You can actually hear people leave a message. No more service charge! Then there are games like "DOOM" & many other 3d available on the net for free. Its true you will always run out of memory. I have to keep deleating programs to install new better software/games. Also look for "EFILEMANAGER" I got it for free on the web. Its an extended file manager. Send ANYTHING from your phone (videos, tones, software etc, etc) Its an amazing tool. Also some very cool screen savers. All you got to do is look around. I don't check my yahoo mail very often but if there's anything you'd like to know? email me... I'll try answer back asap. Have fun... I do everyday! :)

Comment: My advice would be to NEVER use the hard reset code for the 7650 (I'm not even going to list it just in case you try). A friend of mine gave me the code and only when my handset would no longer boot, did he mention that he hadn't tried it himself (some mate he is!). 'Fortunately' my unit had a Bluetooth problem and was due to be replaced FOC anyway......

hello company of Nokia,
first of all when i bought my device iwas so happy,but by the time several defaults started to appear. first of all the screen colours r not clear like sumsong.i can't send music to my friends from the composer. can u plz tell me how to use the composer. Nokia 7650 don't have animated screensaver.the battery gets empty quickly.

I have had this phone for a while. WAS very happy and above all flashy too. Caught every one's eye and sight. But the bloody problem now is a while ago it started generating APVserv errors and on and on. Now it says MEMORY FULL and wont bloody start the phone. It says DELETE SOME MEMORY but I cant get it to start how should I delete the memory. ???? Can any one please advise me through email. Would be very appreciated. I enclose a link to the German T-Mobile site which has software to enable your 7650 to take video (MP4). The software is free (but in German) - It is very easy to use and you can then e-mail the video clips. They only last for approx 10 seconds but it is very cool. http://www.t-mobile.de/videomessaging

Comment: Its a great phone. I also have the problem with the time changing.
I only regret that the software supplied with the phone does not offer the same features as Nokia Data Suite 4.1 for Nokia 6210. With PC Suite for 7650 we can not edit contacts or send SMS messages from the PC. Would you know of any third party software with those features.

Comment: It's a great phone the only problem I have found is that the time keeps on changing without telling you. Example you put the time as 5pm if you later switch off the phone, when you switch it on again it shows a different time and sometimes the date! Also if you do not use the phone for at least 12 hours the time changes again.... Some sort of bug? There is a function where you can have automatic update of the time and date, but it still changes the time as I mentioned above. So I think Nokia should investigate this little problem. But that is all, apart from not so much software available for the moment but soon there will be, I guess.. Up to you now... Regards William
